St. George Round 1

This past weekend we packed up and headed for the warm sunny weather of the south. However, it wasn't at all warm and it snowed from home to Cedar City and then rained all day Saturday. Then Sunday was finally a decent day. Definitely not swimming weather but, nice.

Saturday, the kids hung out with Barry and cousin Tayler at home while I judged a dance competition. So much fun to see all the amazing studios that are out there!

Sunday we of course headed to the outlets where I bought Andrew his Easter outfit. We spent the weekend just relaxing and enjoying a much needed break from out everyday lives. Sometimes its nice to step out of reality.

Here are some picture of our adventure!!

Shopping at the outlets!

A girl after my own heart. She insisted on carrying her bag everywhere!

At the playground in Grandpa's condo!

One of her best pictures. This was after she took a head dive down the stairs!
Poor kid.

We will be heading back down to St. George at the end of the month for our annual softball trip. So, stay tuned for round 2 of our adventure.

While we were having a great time, I took the liberty of stealing some fun shots of Brooklyn and her cousin Ruby. They are four months apart. Brittney and I are trying hoping they will be BFF's!! So far we are off to a great start!! The last picture is all of my parents Grandkids 17 total!! So crazy and fun to see our family get so big!

Florida

Last week I went to Florida for the first time ever! I went with my lovely drill team and we had a fantastic time!! In the end we came out Grand Champions in our small division and reserve grand champions overall!!
We also did a ton of playing we did the whole Disney World Experience and hit every park. Rode every roller coaster and had a blast. We also got to perform in downtown Disney which was a ton of fun too. We had a ton of people just stop and watch it was great!
My favorite part of the trip was Universal Islands of adventure. I loved the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The dueling dragons ride is the best!! It's for sure a front row ride. The actual Harry Potter ride was also fantastic. I even had a taste of butter beer. YUMMY!

Cheers to you all and blog at ya later!

Happy Anniversary!!

So technically I should have done this yesterday but I let time slip away from me.

On February 15, 2003 and married my best friend, Barry Andrew Squires. We have been married for 8 years now!! So crazy how time goes by so swiftly. We have had our ups and our downs just like anyone but I'd say life has been pretty darn good.

We have two beautiful children who are the best kids on the planet, a beautiful home, jobs, and each other. I would imagine our life any other way.

Happy Anniversary!!!

All About Drill

For those that know me well, you know that I LOVE the sport of Drill Team!! It's a crazy sport full of high emotions, drama, it can be time consuming, and very difficult. Yet I still love it. It's a sport that is completely dependant on someones opinion. Some like you others don't. Some days you win and others, you lose. That's exactly what happened this past Tuesday at our Region competition. We lost. I still really don't know why. My girls were on FIRE!! They performed their absolute best. Yet we were still defeated. Saddest day ever. Lots of shock and tears came from all. I honestly can say and truly do feel that my team deserves to be going to state. However that wasn't the out come and I wasn't there judge. If I had been for sure a 1st place in kick :)

Here are some highlights from our season:

Jordan Invitational- 2nd hip hop, 5th in dance, 3rd in kick
Utah Valley Classic- 4th in kick (on a side note this was the competition where we scored above Lone peak in both kick and military)
Murray Classic- 4th in military & 3rd in kick
Region- 4th in kick

I tried to attach a video of the performances but, it wasn't up loading. Been trying for the past 4 hours. Oh well.

Trust me they were good!

Winter Fun!!

Yet again, I have failed at updating my blog. I was doing so good. Oh well. Anyhow here's a run down of what's happened since Christmas.

A few days before New Years we went up to Idaho to visit Barry's mom and sister. We had a great visit and Andrew loved grandma's doggies. The only down side to the trip was our little Brooky got sick that night we were up ALL NIGHT in a hotel room with a crabby baby with a fever. Ended up she had an ear infection and croup. No way to ring in the new year.

January 3rd started the beginning of school again. What do you know, first day 7:30 in the morning and I injure myself demonstrating a dance move. First dance injury EVER! Then the next day, I slipped on ice and used my bad leg to stop the fall from occurring. AND, then, the following Monday, I slipped on the ice AGAIN and landed flat on my back. 2011 is just not my year. However, things have gotten better since then and I am just waiting to go to the ortho to see exactly what the deal is. The trainer at school seems to think its a torn meniscus but who knows.

Drill has been amazing! We have Region on Tuesday and should do really well!! My team has been on FIRE this year. The girls are super talented and the parents are super supportive. Its been fantastic to have so much support. I can hardly wait for Tuesday to see how it all ends up. If you need something to do that evening, come on by Lone Peak High School at 5pm. Our Region is definitely the most talented in the state!

Stay tuned for an update to see how it all ends up!!

Here are some fun random pics of the kids from this past winter.

Merry Christmas

Christmas was fantastic this year!! I believer everyone received what they wanted because no one was upset about anything.

We kicked our celebration time off by having a yummy ham dinner on Christmas Eve and then we took the kids to see Tangled again. Second time but just as good. However, what do you know but Andrew had to go potty at the exact same time both times we saw the movie. What are the odds. So there is at least 5-7 minutes of that movie that I still have not seen. Oh well. Then that evening, we opened up the Christmas jammies. Andrew was so mad when he saw clothes in his box and not a toy. Which in turn made me a little peeved. I think he's a bit too spoiled. Totally mine and Barry's fault. However after he saw what Brooklyn had he was super excited and insists on wearing his slippers every night.
This was the best picture I could get. Brooklyn doesn't Believe on posing for the camera at the appropriate times.

Christmas morning was great Brooklyn got lots of fun girly toys. And, Andrew got lots of fun boy toys, crayons, and games. Santa brought Barry an electric dill and a weed whacker. No more excuses for not cutting the lawn around the fence or swing set!!! I got the best gifts ever, an elliptical machine and a signed Deron Williams Jersey!!! My brother Craig was soooo jealous and insisted I take it off and have it framed immediately.

We headed over to my parents for dinner and the traditional exchanging of gifts. We got some great things from our family members and personalized beach towels from my parents. We had a great time celebrating their first Christmas in their new house. We had plenty of room for all of us to sit in one large circle plus plenty of room for the young ones to run around. Plus I got an awesome purse from my sister Kris!!

This is a picture of all the grand kids!! 16 Total and 17 by Valentines Day thanks to Wendy and Ryan :)

Finally, the best part of the day was celebrating our Saviors Birthday. How lucky are we that we have such an example to live up too. I am so grateful that this is the purpose for Christmas. It's amazing to know all that he taught, learned, and did for us in his short existence on this Earth. I am so grateful for his sacrifice for me that I can repent, and have an eternal family. What an amazing gift!!
