I heart NEW YORK!

This past week we headed to New York City with the PGHS Dance Company!! It was a blast!!! We were constantly on the go and rarely sat to rest. So here is the day by day adventure!

Tuesday we flew out at about 8:20 and arrived in NYC at 4pm. We dropped our luggage at the hotel and headed into the city to hit the Empire State Building. It was a beautiful sight. We had the opportunity to get a great evening view of the city. We only stayed up their for about 10 minutes because the wind was blowing so hard it was FREEZING!! I guess that's what happens when you are in the sky 86 floors.
This is at JFK

On Top of the Empire State Building.

The View from on top.

That night we has some FANTASTIC New York Pizza. It was sooo Yummy!

On Day 2 we visited the Statue of Liberty. What a sight to see!! I have to be honest she's a big woman, but, I thought she was bigger. But still a beautiful sight to behold. That afternoon we headed to Steps Dance Center and took dance classes. I was in a Broadway class with some of the girls and it was pretty fun. It was very entertaining. That night we headed to Mars 2012 for dinner it was interesting. And finally to Mary Poppins!! It was amazing!! I loved the choreography and dancing it was awesome!!

Dinner at Mars.

No explanation needed.

On day 3 we headed into Rockefeller Center & NBC studio's for their tour. We had a chance to see the city form the day light. We weren't able to take picture from inside NBC studio's but it was interesting to see how small the studio was. Then off to more dance classes at Broadway Dance Center. We got a culture shock here. Utah hip-hop vs New York hip-hop not even close to the same. Haha!! But it was great I took one class and did an ok job. I am definitely not a hip hopper but had a blast. Then that night we had some free time so we attempted to get into the live taping of 30 Rock but only had stand by tickets. We stood in the rain for about 1 hour all for nothing. But what fun stories we will have from that!! Then we headed to 5 Guys for dinner. I know, it's a chain restaurant. But, the employees were so great and we got a ton of free french fries!!

Top of the Rock!!

After dance classes in the rain!!

Day 4 we had early morning technique class at Alvin Ailey Dance Studio's!! It was phenomenal!!! I loved every second of it and so did the girls. It was their favorite dance class!!! After wards we meet up with the parents for shopping at Herald Square and Time Square. We rode the wooden elevators at Macy's! It was super cool. Then that evening saw the Lion King.

Outside the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center!!

We saw the "Naked Cowboy" in Time Square and he was GROSS! What a PERV!

Time Square!!

On Day 5 we headed to Radio City Music Hall!! Beautiful building!!! And then to the famous Canal Street where we bought all of our souvenirs and had a great lunch in Little Italy.

Finally on Sunday morning we went to Central Park where we had a tour of a portion of the park. Which included Strawberry Fields, The Carousel, and the Fountain you see in all of the movies.

The building behind us with the two towers is where John Lennon and Yoko Ono lived. Yoko still lives there.
Me on a bench. I know really exciting.

Self Portrait, notice how I capture the sunlight on the stair case. LOL!!

The Famous Carousel!!

All in all it was a fantastic trip! We had a great time. But, were happy to come home to our babies.

The Week of Milestones

It's been an exciting week around here!!! Let's start off with one of the hardest things I have ever done.

On Saturday morning I hiked to the top of Timpanogos with my family. It took us 10 hours and 44 minutes. But, I did burn over 4000 calories so all in all really worth it. I think that it's one of those things you do once and possibly never do again. But here are some pictures from the hike.

It was a great hike and a ton of fun being up their with my family. My sister Cathy, Brother Ron and his daughter Tayler made it part of the way. Myself, sis-in-law Brittney and Brother Craig made it all of the way. I have to admit that there were times that I wanted to quite but am glad I didn't.

The next milestone, was Brooklyn finally cut a tooth!!!!! She is only 15 months old and it seems like its taken forever!! But the first one is finally in.

Finally, Brooklyn finally started walking!!! It's been great watching her teeter around and continuously fall and get back up again. She's becoming quite the pro at that.

In efforts to keep up with my pledge to take more pictures, here are a few snap shots from the bast week.

Is Summer Really Over?

I can't believe school starts on Wednesday!! What happened to June and July??
Oh well. We had a great summer playing, swimming, and just having fun. We've decided our favorite place to swim is the Lindon City Pool. Definitely the best place to go if you have little kids.

We celebrated my Dad's 70th birthday this past month!! Is he really getting up there in age? To me, he'll always be 50 and I'll always be 25. HaHa!!! I'll just keep telling myself that.

Which leads me to my next point. Am I getting old? And, do I look as old as some of the people I occasionally run into that I went to high school with? hmm Just asking.

And finally, we found a great little Day Care Center for Brooks and Andrew about a mile from our house. This cute lady named Mable runs it and so far after 2 days they have survived. We just have to get back into day care mode and well be fine. Just fine. But the kids sure do miss their Sierra.

And really the end is that sorry I have no pictures. Honestly, I'm too lazy to get out the camera and load them on. I'll try harder next time.

Peace out to all!!!

Play Time in July!!!

July started of with our celebration of the 4th which was a bit crazy this year because I was operating 2 fireworks stands for a fundraiser for drill and dance company. None the less we made sure Andrew and Brooklyn got to be a part of the fireworks.

Then we have spent a better part of our days going to the park, swinging, and feeding the ducks at the pond across the street.

We have also spent many nights at the ball park t watch Barry play softball.

Brooklyn is becoming a "big" girl and thinks she can climb the stairs. I am just waiting for her to crack her head open in all of her bravery.
Finally, for the kids birthdays, we bought a swing set for the back yard!! It's great because in the afternoon it's in the shade which makes it enjoyable for me to be out there pushing them. Thanks to daddy and cousin Padan they can finally play on it!!

Brave little sucker isn't she???

That's it for now!! Peace out and Happy Pioneer Days to all you Utahns!!!

Happy Birthday

This past week we celebrated both Brooklyn's and Andrew's birthdays!! Monday the 25th, Brooklyn turned the big 01!!! We went to the Hogle Zoo and had a great time. We also discovered that if you go to the zoo close to closing time, it's a lot less crowded and they still have the carousel and train open!
Self portrait at the Zoo!!

Andrew LOVED the carousel ride! He cried when it was all said and done.

Another self portrait of the family, almost a good picture except Brooks eyes are closed and I am not sure what Barry was looking at.

Before...
After! She didn't even hesitate to dive right in!

For Andrew's third birthday, we went to see Toy Story 3! He had been begging to see it ever since he saw the first commercial. We absolutely Loved it! Of course, I cried at the end. I am such a baby.
So excited to open his presents!!!
And his cake!! Yes there are only two candles on the cake and he turned 3. I thought I had an entire box of candles. Opps!
