Christmas Day

Christmas started out with a ton of snow. Barry shoveled our 8" of snow out of the driveway and even built himself a snowman that looked a little like darth vader. It's hard to tell that here but really it did.

We had a fabulous Christmas morning. Of all the toys Andrew recieved, the toy vaccum was and still is his favorite. Who would have known. Barry got me the toy of my dreams, a new IPod Touch. My mini has been on the fritz lately and dies everyday which makes teaching my dance classes pretty hard. All is good now. He also got me some beautiful art work that I need to figure out where to hang. He got a digital media player that will take all of his saved movies on the computer and play them on the TV. No more burning disks for Barry.
The rest of the day was spent at the Wachter household where all 28 of us gathered together for the annual dinner and present exchange. As usual the massive paper fight broke out and even Andrew got involved.
I saved the best picture for last! Cathy, my sis took the best picture of Andrew. It's one that will be shown to girlfriends and others for the rest of his life!!!
I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas and will have a safe and wonderful New Year!!!

Andrew's Big Announcement!!!!

Andrew has decided to announce to the world that he is excited to become a big brother!!! Yes I am pregnant. 12 weeks and 2 days to be exact. We broke the news to the family just this last Sunday. It was a pretty good shocker. No one quite expected it. The baby is due on June 30th and If the same thing happens that happened with Andrew, it will be 2 1/2 weeks prior to that day. But I am not counting on it. In February we will attempt to find out the sex of the baby and I will let you all know. So until then I will go about my business of gaging and puking. Happy day to you All!!!

Barry is Crazy!!!!!

For those of you who know Barry, you know he is pretty determined and rarely gives up on anything. Ever since we moved into our house, he's wanted to put Christmas light around it. I think that we have the highest house with the steepest ruf in the neighborhood. It was an impossible task. Not for Barry. This past weekend he traded third row Jazz tickets with the manager of diamond rental to get a cherry picker lift. He and my nephew spent all day Saturday up in this thing hanging lights on the house. It looks pretty great. I am only sorry I was at a drill competition all day on Saturday and never got the privelage to see this task mastered. Therefore I also have no pictures of the blessed Christmas tradition. If you will all picture in your minds you will be able to giggle along with me.

Crazy Month

Sorry I haven't updated my blog in like a good six weeks. It's been a crazy November. This month my dance company had their dance concert. There's a lot of stress going into making sure everything works and so because of it I let everything else slip.

Thanksgiving was delicious!!! My mom makes the best Turkey!!! However, the stomach flu was surfing around day care and yep, Andrew got a diarehhea version. It lasted for seven days!! It was horrible. Fianaly as of yesterday, all is good.

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and are enjoying all of the shopping maddness in order to get ready for Christmas!!

Getting Older

I don't like to think of myself as an old person yet. Sure I am 32 and on my way to 33. But am I really that old. So you may wonder why I am posing this question. Today, I ran into a girl I danced with in Jr. High and who I went to High School with. It took me forever to realize and remember who she was. (I still can't remember her last name.) But boy, did she look OLD! She reminded me of one of my old young women leaders back in the day. As I finished my conversation with her, it made me wonder, I am I starting to look that old? (Nobody needs to answer that question.) Hopefully not. My plan is if I keep teaching the high school aged population, at least they can make me feel young.

A question for all of you, What makes you feel old????

So You Think You Can Dance!!!

What an amazing show. Those of you who know me well, know I have been an admire of the show since it's beginning. I keep hoping that one day one of my dancers will be there. I will keep the hope going. I was so impressed with all of them. It was one of the most amazing concerts I have ever been to. I also got lucky enough to score some backstage passes for after the show. Every single dancer was so gracious and kind. I was impressed their were no Divas to be seen. I might have even got lucky enough to have Thayne come and set something on my dance company!!! Pictures to come as soon as I figure out the whole slide show thing.

You can't call him a gril anymore!!!

I was finally tired of my son being referred to as a girl so I finally took him to the local Super Cuts and got him styled. The stylist was fabulous so a big shout out to her for being so good with him. He did get a bit scared at first and got a little edgy at times but we all managed through it and he looks great. Sorry the after picture sort of sucks but I couldn't get him to pose.

A big woo hoo to the BYU Cougars for having another shut out game. I have a sad feeling that next week when they play my Aggies, that it will make it three in a row. Gooooo Aggies!!!!!!

And for those of you who have always wondered about the cool parts of Barry's job here is a little insight. Every Wednesday night, he get's to engineer the BYU Coaches shows. They are always held at various Ken Garff dealerships in Utah County. He gets to spend his evening putting the coaches show on the air, he gets to sit next to Bronco Mendenhall, and chat it up with the players that come in. What a cool job. One of these times I am going have to set the dvr for America's Next Top Model and make it in their to see what all the fuss is about.

GOOOOOOOOO COUGARS!!!!!

So I totally thought BYU had their work cut out for them today in the game vs. UCLA. Boy was I wrong. Barry, Andrew and myself went to the game and made it until the score was 49 zip before we bailed. Best thing about leaving that early was NO TRAFFIC. If you have ever been in BYU traffic it's almost as bad as L.A. traffic.

I also wanted to give you all an update on how going back to work/day care has been for me and Andrew. We have now survived 4 solid weeks and we are finally both doing better. Andrew has finally quit crying when I leave him and he's finally sleeping at night again. I am so glad we have finally gotten our routine back down. Life is Good!!!

5 days down 175 to go!!!

I have officially survived the first week of school!!!! We should all get together and celebrate!!! This past week was a drainer. It really kicked me in the pants. To top it all off, I finished the week up with an awesome cold. Who in the heck gets a cold in the middle of summer. Just me.

Andrew is adapting to daycare better. He still cries every time I leave but what are you gonna do. He is such a momma's boy it's really sad. Not even Barry can help save him. Today Andrew also survived his first biting incident at Day care some kid bit his arm and then his finger. What a great kid. No worries he'll live through that too.

Off to another fantastic week!!!!!!

The First Day of School!!!

First off, I want to apologize to my loyal friends who keep tabs on me. I have not been to great at updating my blog so I apologize. The past two weeks have been crazy with school getting underway.
Today was the first official day with students. It was crazy! They had us run all eight classes. This year I picked up an extra class so instead of having a prep a day I only have one prep every other day. A bit stressful. Because I am splitting my time between dance and health, I was all over the place today. Hopefully tomorrow will be better since we are on a regular schedule. Keep your fingers crossed that all goes well!!!!
As for Andrew and day care, he is fine after an hour or so. But, he's going through a bit of separation anxiety. Last year it was me who cried everyday. This year it's him. Oh when will all the craziness end????
By the way did I mention that all of this was crazy?

Tubes for Andrew

Yesterday morning we took Andrew to the hospital to have tubes put in his ears. Barry of course, was freaking out and all worried, (he's such a great dad!) But all went well. They gave him a mini hospital gown to wear. When your that little those things are actually cute. The procedure took all of 10 minutes and he was good to go. All was great yesterday. You would have never even known he had a little surgery done. Thanks goodness for excellent doctors and nurses!!!!

Welcome August!!

I can't believe it's August!!!! Where did my summer go???? Anyone have any answers to that question? I start Dance Company practice in exactly one week from today!!! I am using Cold Plays FABULOUS new song and am stoked to use it. I hope I have my choreography complete by then.

Now on another note. This past weekend we had our first annual Sha-Ronn reunion. For those of who are clueless to what the heck a Sha-Ronn is, it's the drill team in Tooele. I sent invites to as many girls that I could locate that I coached from 2000 to 2005 when I left Tooele. What a great time it was to see so many of them again. Many of them I have been fortunate enough to keep in contact with. But, many I hadn't seen since their weddings or graduation. It was a blast.

Friendly reminder the "So You Think You Can Dance" finale is on this week tune into find out who America will pick as their favorite dancer. Heaven knows I can't decide I love them all.

Andrew climbs stairs and more creatures in my yard!

Andrew made his first trip up the stairs unassisted. SCARY!!!!!!!!!!! I am happy he is a free traveling soul but, couldn't find safer places to go??? Just kidding. I know it will just get worse when the walking starts.

Barry found this little guy in one of our sprinkler things. He's pretty cute. But I really didn't want a pet frog. Barry said there was a much larger one too. But, he hopped across the street to the pond before he got caught!!! Oh the joys of living right next to Utah Lake!!!

What I found in my flower Bed!!!

I found this little guy crawling up the wall of our front porch today. Snails aren't as slow as one would think. He was in the dirt when I went to retrieve my camera. By the time I got back, he was to the top of our stairs.

Happy 4th of July

Hope you all had a great 4th of July. We went to Stadium of Fire!!! Yes we saw the amazing Miley Cyrus. Really not so amazing but fun anyway. This has become a long time family tradition. The only bummer thing about it was that all 28 of us couldn't go and we didn't get to sit together as we have every other year. My dad and brother opted out of the Miley Mania so everyone else was able to attend. It was fun but we have all agreed that if we can't sit together we won't go. I guess we might have to resort back to the days of old and watch the PG City fireworks.
